Police Arrest Alleged Fort Worth Bootlegger

(CBS 11 News) FORT WORTH Fort Worth police have arrested a 69-year-old accused of bootlegging. Undercover officers say they caught him selling alcohol out of his house in the 3000 block of Lancaster Avenue. Police call the house a known bootlegging location. All the undercover cops had to do was drive-up, honk the horn and order a 12 pack. Gene Autry Lusk, the alleged bootlegger, sat on his porch Monday recovering from cataract surgery and reflecting on his night jail. The retiree told us he gets by on social security, but he may have boosted his bank account selling beer. Police reports say Lusk charged $10 for a six pack, $24 for a 12 pack. The 69-year-old grandfather wouldn't admit to selling bear at first. He said the 56 cans officers confiscated were for personal consumption and parties.

Even small business gets into the green act

That kind of activism appeals to many consumers, who are often drawn to the idea that the money they spend can be doing good for the world. But they're also looking for products and services that are good for them — Greenberg said his company has thrived by selling flooring that isn't covered with polyurethane, but that's protected by oil. That stops plastic particles from going into the air, he said.

The Greenhouse Grille, a Fayetteville, Ark., restaurant, sells organic food and uses as many environmentally friendly products and services as it can find. Clayton Suttle, a co-owner, said he and his partners have eaten organic food for years because of its health benefits, and “when we were looking into opening a restaurant, it just kind of carried over."

“We're trying to go as much so-called green as we can," he said.

Royally Frightening

So here's what I first thought. A marathon reading of bedtime stories caused me to miss the first forty minutes of the game, so when I turned it on, and there was Jake Woods pitching, I thought, huh, that's weird. But then I decided that actually, maybe it was a smart move- they must have started Woods tonight, in an effort to see if he was ready to replace Woeful Weaver in the rotation. Plus, maybe they felt like Felix could use an extra night off. I kind of like it, I thought, a bold choice! In retrospect of course, I realize that makes zero sense, and as far as ideas go, it's just unforgivably dumb. But that's how far away I was from letting it occur to me for one second that Felix might have gotten hurt.

Then I found out what really happened.

So what do we know? As I'm writing this, the game is still going, and all we've heard is that Felix was pulled for elbow tightness, as a precautionary measure.

FDA Approves Fast Track Designation for Naryx Pharma’s Product for ...

SANTA BARBARA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Naryx Pharma, Inc. announced today that the FDA has granted a request for Fast Track Designation of SPRC-AB01, an antibiotic product being developed for the treatment of chronic sinusitis in patients who have undergone previous sinus surgical procedures.

Under the FDA Modernization Act of 1997, a new drug may be designated "Fast Track" if the agency feels that the drug candidate has the potential to address an unmet medical need by treating a serious or life-threatening condition. Naryx is now eligible to submit a New Drug Application (NDA) on a rolling basis and may apply for expedited review of its NDA.

In its response to Naryx's application, The Division of Anti-Infective and Ophthalmology Products acknowledged that chronic sinusitis that persists after sinus surgery has an enduring adverse impact on the day-to-day functioning of patients who suffer from the condition.
